| The story of a ghostly call center |
|
Prior to that, he had worked in many large BPOs and was considered to be a stalwart in the industry. The facility of this company was situated slightly on the outskirts of the city in a vast extent of land. There were only few houses situated around the company on the other side of the road. The company used to be flooded with employees on weekdays and deserted on weekends. Seldom did anyone, even from the management, come to the office on weekend. Mr. Rodriguez himself had never visited the office on the weekend in the past 2 years. But this weekend was different because Mr. Rodriguez was close to sign a deal with a big client. And the client wanted to see the company office on Saturday because of his busy schedule. Mr. Rodriguez accompanied his client to the office in the evening. They went to his cabin for further discussion and after agreeing on terms, the deal was successfully signed. Rodriguez escorted his client to the car and saw him off at the gates. Once the client had left, Rodriguez, who was overwhelmed with happiness because of the deal went back to his cabin. He took out a bottle of wine from his desk and poured a glass for himself. He was looking over some papers when he heard the gate open. Curious about who it could be at this point of time, he went out towards the gate. Strangely enough, there wasn’t a single soul, neither at the gate nor anywhere in the area. A bit tensed, Rodriguez started approaching his office again and decided to take a round along the call center bay. He went upstairs and was walking through the corridor when he could hear voices of people speaking in the phone. He ignored it for a while thinking that he was very tired and as a result his head was spinning. But then, the intensity of the voices started increasing as he moved closer to the bay. The lights of the bay were on and so were the systems. His heart paced now and a slight fear had entered his mind. Still, he opened the door of the bay and what he saw was simply horrific. There were people in the bay area over the phones, taking calls. He couldn’t believe his eyes and still thought that he was hallucinating it. He rubbed his eyes hard and saw again; what he saw was not people, they were only bodies having blood red eyes floating in the air. He was shocked to death and couldn’t move a limb. Ghosts taking calls was a unique as well as scary sight for Rodriguez. Gathering all the strength that he could, he shouted and asked them who they were, but nobody replied. He was so frightened with the events happening around him that even his voice was breaking. He tried to move and run out of the bay but couldn’t. He was glued to the place with only his eyes and ears working. With every passing moment, his heart was beating faster and he couldn’t understand what to do. His mind had given up and so had his body. Sometime had passed, and he saw those floating bodies leaving the bay through the windows. One by one each of them went out of the gate across the road. The sight that Rodriguez was witnessing now was the most terrifying and frightening thing that he had ever seen. The ghosts entered the graveyard which was situated on the other side of the company. Everyone entered their graves again and in a minute they were not there. The shock that Rodriguez was in suffocated him. He lay motionless on the bay area floor, paralyzed to death. |
It is often found that call centers are never deserted. At any point of time in the working days, there is someone or the other who is present at their desk and working. Mr. Rodriguez was the owner of one such call center in the city. He had been in the business for 2 years now with his own infrastructure and company.
